Christchurch Adventist School provides a dynamic learning environment for children from Year 1 right through to Year 13. We seek an energetic and motivated TEFL qualified teacher, preferably with recent experience of NCEA, to teach our ESOL students in years 9 to 13. This is a fixed term, part-time job starting term 1 for 14 hours a week. Candidates must be able to assess the English language ability of international students on arrival and to develop and deliver individual teaching and learning programmes. A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school shall be condition of appointment.

Having the right attitude and approach gives all students confidence and encourages them to carry on learning how to speak english in a secure environment.I learned about what kind of equipment I can find in a classroom and how teaching aids could make the lessons more interesting and entertaining for the students. I learned that the way we use the board and how the information is distributed in it, it's very important. Also I learned that we must always have a backup plan if we are going to use an electronic device like projectors or computers.
