Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit is a review of the various past tense forms and the appropriate uses of them. This is valuable information to a native English speaker who wants to teach ESL as it is something that is second nature and the details and complexity's of the tenses are not often considered. Ideas for activities for students are always interesting and as well and the section on the different irregular verbs.Simple past tense is used for actions completed at a definite time in the past. Past continuous tense is used for interrupted past actions and also used in descriptions. Past perfect tense is the equivalent of present perfect. The past perfect continuous is used to talk about longer actions or situations in the past that had been going continuously up to the past moment that we are thinking about.
