thebigword have an upcoming opportunity for TEFL or equivalent certified English Language Teachers starting February 2015. The first roles will begin on the 16th February 2015 in Portsmouth, England, teaching a number of Gulf Arabic speaking students. This role will be on a contract basis and will last for an initial 10 month period. This project presents an excellent opportunity to develop within an innovative environment and will initially endure through 2019 with the possibility to extend further. In addition to the teaching roles we will also have a Course Manager position which will begin early February.
thebigwords Defence Division is led by the Board of Directors, an executive sales team and an ex-military operational team of high ranking officers, who collectively have years of experience in military operations and military language services. This network is underpinned by the experience of thebigwords 32 years in the language industry.
We have been supporting the overseas operations with ISAF forces in Afghanistan as well as a high profile international tribunal case. Here in the UK we provide linguistic support to the British Armed Forces on a number of landmark training projects as well as Cultural Awareness training to healthcare professionals working overseas. The Defence Division also supplies TEFL/TESOL trainers/teachers in the UK and overseas, an area we will be expanding in significantly over the next 12 months with opportunities in the UK & Saudi Arabia in particular.

Who are we looking for?
- TEFL, TESOL, CELTA Qualified or equivalent certification/accreditation
- Educated to Degree level (any subject)
- At least 3 years proven experience as an English Language Teacher
- Experience delivering IELTS courses
- Innovative teaching methods
- EU national preferred
Compensation:
- Up to £30,000 pro rata
- Annual leave (set by allocated term time)
