English for Life is a small friendly school run by teachers, which is an Associate Member of International House. Classes are off site in companies or government offices and involve some traveling and split shifts. The majority of classes are in the evenings. There is an emphasis on teacher development with regular input sessions and observations. Teachers generally work Monday to Thursday with some classes on a Friday. There are 20 days paid holiday a year (10 days for a 6 month contract) and contracts and visas are provided. Contracts are for a total of 30 or 35 hours a week (including teaching, planning, travel and meetings). Required TEFL, Trinity TESOL or IH Certificate or equivalent (courses including teacher practice of at least 100 hours duration) will be considered.
