Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit, I learned the helpful information on how to manage a classroom. Some examples of this are seating arrangements, teacher talk time, eye contact, group work, gesturing and individual attention. These strategies go a long way to assist the teacher in his or her goal to teach the material. Without adequate classroom management, the students will be unable to learn the material because of distractions. This unit showed the difference in authentic and non authentic materials and how both can be used in the classroom. It also talked about the importance of lesson plans and how it can be used for a substitute teacher in case you were unable to teach a class, how to organize a lesson plan by listing each procedure and the timing, and the goals of the teacher, the students, and potential problems for both parties.
