Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit was very difficult for me as the only time I have ever done Phonology was in 2nd year English in university. Having to learn these sounds and how to articulate them s very new to me. I have learnt that the manner and place of articulation is very important as well as intonation and stress on certain words when speaking, that some words spelled the same can be said much differently.Pronunciation is probably neglected aspect of English language teaching. Confidence is often lacking in foreign teachers to teach methodically, and English teacher sometimes also lack the training and confidence to tackle this area. I learnt a lot of things from this unit: intonation, tress, phonemic symbols, articulation and teaching techniques for the pronunciation of individual sounds.
